Bottom-up project
This call is for students looking for a PhD position and willing to submit their own thesis project. If they fulfill the eligibility criteria, they may submit a thesis proposal using the mandatory template through the submission portal (apply button), even if they have not found an AMU supervisor yet.
They also need to submit all the information on the candidate her/himself. For this stage the submission portal will be open from December 1st, 2025 to January 12th, 2026. Candidates that have not found an AMU supervisor before the submission deadline, will be advised to find one (see find an advisor) before February 13th, 2026.
At this stage, the applicants must submit all the documents described hereafter in the “application of the candidates” section and upload a research and training project describing the scientific project, its impact and its implementation, using the compulsory template available at the “guide and template” section.

Top-down project
This call is for PhD thesis supervisors willing to submit a thesis project and looking for a PhD student. The proposal must be submitted by a researcher or a teacher-researcher affiliated to a research unit of Aix-Marseille University, using the mandatory template and through the submission portal (apply button). For this stage the submission portal will be open from December 16th, 2025 to February 13th, 2026.
